Wildcats Rout Roosevelt

Corbin Throgmorton, Sports Editor

The season is officially upon us and the Wildcat Football playoff run is fully underway. The Cats started the state tournament with a huge win over the Roosevelt Eagles 70-8. The Cats started this game fast with a kickoff return to the 30-yard line leading to a 30 yard rushing touchdown for Camren Cavalier in the first play of offense. The Wildcats would quickly get a stop forcing a Roosevelt punt where the cats would get the ball and score, again, and again, and again. Of the 10 times the Wildcats had possession of the ball on offense they score in 10 of them. The rushing attack was unstoppable with the Cats having 3 rushers over 100 yards, with Camren, Sophomore Quarterback Clay Kendall, and Junior Running back Kaden Crooks. The Cats defense was in its usual dominating form limiting the Eagles to just 122 yards of total offense. The Defensive Backs played incredible allowing 0 passing yards and 0 pass completions. The performance from the team was nothing short of pure domination and there is likely more to come.
